Big Red Fire Museum
The Big Red Fire Museum was established in 1989 to foster an appreciation of the history of fire fighting, the spirit of volunteerism, and an awareness of fire safety. A collection of restored antique fire equipment includes late 1700 hand pumpers, hose reels, horse drawn ladder trucks and wagons, an 1889 Silsby 910 and an 1869 Cole Brothers steam pumper, hand pulled reels and wagons, 1921 ALF pumper, 1924 Ahrens-Fox pumper, 1921 city service ladder truck, 1924 & 1957 ALF ladder trucks, and more. Legion State Park
Hidden in Mississippi's red hill country, the rustic Legion State Park remains as unspoiled today as when the Choctaw Indians inhabited the area centuries ago. Two fishing lakes, a nature trail, a picnic pavilion, RV and tent camping facilities, and fishing and paddleboat rentals are available for outdoor recreational use. Louisville Coliseum
The Louisville Coliseum is home to the East Mississippi Fall Classic Walking and Racking Horse Show, voted best show for several years. Call 662-773-3921 for more information.

Nanih Waiya Historical Site
The legendary birthplace of the Choctaw Indian Nation and the site of their Sacred Mound, Nanih Waiya, was occupied by the Choctaws from approximately the time of Christ until European contact with North America. The historic site features a swinging bridge leading to a cave under the Sacred Mound. A Choctaw burial mound is also located in the area. Several picnic sites are located at the site. Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge
The 48,000-acre Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge is an outdoor paradise. The refuge is home to the bald eagle, alligators, red-cockaded woodpeckers, bobcats and wild turkeys. Open year round, the refuge offers three observation platforms, canoeing, hunting, fishing, bird watching, foot trails and hiking. A special Noxubee National Wildlife Week is held in October.
