Your attention is split between hot jazz and soul-crushing blues at all times. Set foot on the famed Mississippi Blues Trail, tour the legendary Mississippi Delta, and even stop by the birthplace of Elvis Presley in Tupelo. This summer, you can discover the Mississippi music experience just by visiting a few cities throughout the Magnolia State. The calendar is cluttered with summer concert series, jazz and heritage festivals, and live music throughout cafés, restaurants and artwalks.
Head to downtown Moss Point in southern Mississippi for the Waterfront Café summer concert series. Want to see an authentic Juneteenth celebration? Of course, blues and jazz aren’t the only sounds to float through the warm, Mississippi air this summer. Check out CelticFest Mississippi in Jackson at the end of the summer – where you can be sure to grasp yet another culture in the borders of the Magnolia State. Hear Celtic stories and music, shop the markets, and pack away as much boxty as you can handle.
